Woza wins another Great Taste Award
We had some very exciting news last week… our Original Beef biltong was awarded one star at the 2018 Great Taste Awards! Apparently, the judges love our classic beef biltong as much as we do 😎
Great Taste, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, has been described as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world and we’re delighted to be adding to our collection of awards. Last year, our Cape Cinnamon beef biltong and Wild Venison biltong were recognised by Great Taste winning two stars and one star respectively. Our Wild Venison biltong was also named runner up at the Great British Food Awards in 2017 in the Best Charcuterie category.
For those of you who might not have tried it (yet), our Original Beef Biltong is made using premium sustainable British beef seasoned with a toasted coriander and cracked pepper spice blend and naturally air-dried. Our beef is currently sourced from the West Country from certified local suppliers.
In fact, most of the ingredients in our biltong come from the West Country; for instance, we use fantastic Cornish sea salt and apple cider vinegar in our cure. We pride ourselves on keeping all of our products free from artificial sugars, preservatives, MSG and nitrates, so you won’t find any ‘nasty’ preservatives, nitrates or nitrates on the list. On another very exciting note, Woza was featured in the Sunday Telegraph this week. In a taste-test feature on biltong and beef jerky, Woza’s Original Beef Biltong was rated as a 10/10 and the top choice against the other five products!
All in all, it’s been a pretty great week over here at Woza HQ! And with the bank holiday weekend looming, it’s only set to get better.
